Author Guidelines
Average Review Duration: The review process typically takes 8 weeks from submission to the first editorial decision.
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to The Journal of Cultural Perspectives (TJCP). All submissions will first be screened by an editor for alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts that meet these criteria will undergo a double-blind peer review before a final decision is made regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection.
These guidelines aim to help authors prepare high-quality submissions. Manuscripts not following the format or ethical requirements may be returned before review.
1. Scope and Manuscript Fit

Submissions should engage with issues of culture, identity, social practices, critical theory, heritage, and related interdisciplinary cultural perspectives.

Manuscripts must present original, unpublished work, not under review elsewhere.

Authors should demonstrate how their research contributes to theoretical, methodological, or empirical understanding of cultural perspectives.
-
Use inclusive and respectful language, avoiding bias or discriminatory terms.
2. Article Types
Please identify your article type clearly at submission:

3. Pre-Submission Requirements
Before submission, ensure that:

All authors consent to be listed and have approved the final manuscript.

Research involving human or animal participants has received ethical approval in accordance with institutional and national standards.

Permissions are obtained for any third-party material (photos, tables, figures, etc.).
-
The manuscript is anonymized for double-blind review.
4. Authorship and Contributions
-
Each author’s affiliation should reflect where most of their work was completed.
-
Authorship changes (addition, removal, order) after submission must be justified and approved by all co-authors.
-
Include an Author Contributions statement (e.g., Conceptualization, Methodology, Writing – Original Draft).
-
Disclose funding sources and any conflicts of interest.
5. Manuscript Structure and Formatting
5.1 File Format

Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

Use the journal’s official template.
5.2 Formatting

Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size
-
Spacing: Double-spaced throughout
-
Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

Do not Include page numbers

Do not include author-identifying information within the main file
5.3 Word Count

Original Research and Review Articles: 3,000–5,000 words

Case Studies: 2,000–5,000 words
-
Extended Reviews or Theoretical Essays: Up to 7,000 words (with prior approval)
5.4 Abstract and Keywords

Abstract: Up to 200 words (structured for research papers: Background, Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion)

Keywords: 3–10 relevant and specific keywords

5.6 Tables and Figures

Number sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.)

Each must include a title/caption and be cited in the text.

Images must be 300 dpi minimum.

Submit as separate files if possible.
-
Obtain permissions for copyrighted content.
6. Citation and Reference Style
-
Use APA (7th edition) reference style.
-
Ensure formatting consistency in punctuation, italics, and capitalization.
-
Include DOIs or URLs where available.
-
At least 30% of references should be from the past 5 years.
-
Include a minimum of 25-30 academic references.
7. Ethical Standards
-
Manuscripts must be original and plagiarism-free (checked via plagiarism detection tools).
-
Data must be accurate and honestly reported.
-
Where applicable, share supporting data or state reasons for restrictions.
-
Research involving human subjects must include statements of informed consent.
-
The journal follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and SAGE ethical guidelines.
8. Cover Letter
Your submission must include a cover letter containing:

Manuscript title and article type
-
Author names, affiliations, and contact details
-
Statement on the paper’s relevance to TJCP
-
Confirmation that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere
-
Names and contact details of 2–4 suggested reviewers (with institutional email addresses, PhD holders preferred)
9. Review Process
-
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.
-
Average Review Duration: 8 weeks from initial submission to the first decision.
-
After receiving reviewer feedback, authors may be asked to revise their manuscript.
-
During revision, authors must use Track Changes in Microsoft Word so editors and reviewers can clearly see what modifications have been made.
-
Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted within 2 weeks.
-
The editor makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations and compliance with revisions.
10. Decision and Notification
Authors will receive one of the following decisions:
Accept
Minor Revision
Major Revision
Reject
Feedback will be provided for all decisions.
Accepted manuscripts proceed to production and copyediting.
11. Publication and Fees

- This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
